EN: A hybrid work of spoken word and free musical improvisation, featuring the texts and voice of Mirko Vercelli and the music of Maltempo Collettivo.

Gli Strumenti della Solitudine intertwines travel diary, poetry, sound, and anthropological and cultural reflections. Created in Southeast Asia, it explores themes of memory, loss, and impermanence—moving from ancient legends to technology—in a dialogue between voice, free improvisations, video footage, and field recordings.

The work exists in two forms: a feature-length film and an album.
In the film, the text is presented in its entirety, accompanied by the soundtrack and a flow of footage recorded with a handycam.
In the album, selected excerpts of the text alternate with instrumental passages.

Gli Strumenti della Solitudine intreccia diario di viaggio, poesia, suono, riflessioni antropologiche e culturali.

Realizzato nel Sud-Est asiatico, esplora i temi della memoria, della perdita e dell'impermanenza passando da antiche leggende alla tecnologia, in un dialogo tra voce, improvvisazioni libere, filmati e paesaggi sonori registrati sul campo.

L'opera si esprime in due forme: un lungometraggio e un album.

Nel lungometraggio il testo è presentato integralmente, accompagnato dal sonoro e da un flusso di filmati registrati con una handycam.

Nell’album alcuni estratti del testo si alternano a momenti strumentali.

Mirko Vercelli is a Turin-based anthropologist and author who explores new media, solitude, memory, and identity through spoken word and autobiographical storytelling. His work transforms personal experience into collective reflection, building bridges between intimacy and the universal dimension.
